Children’s Classes

Children’s classes are held weekly, and are 1 hour long. There are a maximum of 4 students per class.
These classes are suitable for children aged 9+ years.
Use of a sewing machine and tools are provided in class.

Topics covered include;
* Sewing room safety
* Identifying sewing tools and supplies
* Getting to know the sewing machine, and how to use it.
We then progress onto simple projects, which can be craft or clothing pieces. Each item we make develops sewing skills, and builds knowledge.

Students will learn to sew using the Kids Can Sew curriculum booklets, which has a cost of $50 and should last 9 -12 months.

Students are required to provide their own fabric, thread and notions for each project. A list of the supplies needed will be supplied. Students will leave their projects here in a specified ‘cubby’, so no one will forget to bring their project with them each week. Upon completion, they will bring them home.

Children’s classes are now offered in two venues – Sew Biased Studio in Crofton Downs, or at Made Marion Craft in Cuba Street.
