Shirts are a wardrobe staple, but it can be a challenge to find the perfect fit and fabric in a store bought shirt. This is a class for those who would like to make their own dress shirts.
In this class we learn:
- Techniques for crisp collar stands and collars.
- How to sew button bands and buttonholes.
- Techniques for cuffs and plackets.
- How to sew flat fell or french seams for a neat internal finish.
- How to sew a narrow hem for a professional shirt hem.
Level: This class has a number of more advanced techniques, so is best suited to students who have several sewing projects under their belt. Students should be comfortable cutting fabric and operating a sewing machine.
Materials: Students are required to provide their own pattern, fabric and notions needed for their shirt. A list of suggested patterns will be provided.
Cost: $175
Teacher: This class is taught by our awesome sewing expert, Brendan Goudswaard.
